Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and who can see it. Last updated 31 October 2026.
Who we are
A+ Academy is an online maths and English tutoring business for Kindergarten to Year 6, based in Canberra, ACT. Questions about privacy go to aplusacademy.centre@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Booking form: your name, email, your child's year level, the subject, how you heard about us and any message you write.
- Once lessons start: your child's first name and year level, your name and email, and lesson records: what was covered, quiz scores, strengths, things to work on, homework and attendance.
- Billing: invoices and whether they've been paid.
- Tutors: the name and Google account email they use to sign in to our tutor portal.
We don't ask for your child's surname, school, address, photos or date of birth.
How we use it
Only to run lessons: to arrange times, send progress notes and invoices after each lesson, and reply to your questions. We never sell information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- The A+ Academy owner, who reviews every progress note before it's sent.
- Your child's tutor, who sees your child's first name and their own lesson notes. Tutors can't see parents' email addresses or payment details.
- The services we use to run the business: Netlify (website and booking form), Supabase (lesson records, stored in Sydney), Resend (sends our emails) and Google (email and tutor sign-in). Some of these companies may store information outside Australia.
How long we keep it
Lesson records are kept while your child has lessons with us. Invoices and payment records are kept for five years, as Australian tax law requires. Ask us and we'll delete anything we don't have to keep.
Cookies
Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The tutor portal saves a tutor's sign-in in their own browser so they stay logged in.
Seeing, fixing or deleting your information
Email aplusacademy.centre@gmail.com and we'll reply within a week. You can ask what we hold, correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
