Lessons

How do online lessons work?

We meet on Zoom with a shared whiteboard, so we can see your child's working and they can see ours. All they need is a laptop or tablet, plus pencil and paper.

How long is a lesson?

Standard lessons are 60 minutes. For Kindergarten to Year 2 we can run shorter 30 or 45-minute lessons. The free trial lesson is 30 minutes.

When are lessons?

Weekdays 4pm to 8pm and weekends 9am to 4pm, Canberra time. Most families book the same time each week.

Can I sit in?

Yes, any time. You don't need to ask.

Will my child actually concentrate online?

Lessons are one-on-one, so there's nowhere to hide and nothing to get distracted by. For younger students we keep sessions short and mix up the activities.

What do you mean by custom workbooks?

After each lesson we write practice sheets based on what your child got stuck on, and send them before the next lesson. They're digital and included in the price.

Do you follow the Australian Curriculum?

Yes. Lessons are built around it, so what we do lines up with what's happening at school.

How will I know what we covered?

We send a short message after every lesson with what we worked on and what to keep an eye on.

Our tutors

Who are the tutors?

Soham and Ben, two secondary students with strong results in maths and English. You can read about them on the home page.

Where are you based?

Canberra. Lessons are online, so we can teach students anywhere in Australia.
